GFMD Review 2018 – Questionnaire for Member States

Dear Government Friends of the Forum,

The Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) 2017-2018 Co-Chairmanship has proposed to conduct a ten-year internal review that would aim to:

  1. assess the value and relevance of the GFMD in addressing migration and development concerns, both emerging and traditional concerns of participating member states;
  2. consider how to further strengthen the GFMD process; and
  3. identify ways by which to enhance the GFMD process, including by suggesting policy options and options for practical action,  to make the GFMD fit for the purpose of supporting Member States in  the implementation, review and follow-up of the GCM and migration-related commitments in the SDGs.
As a first step in this review exercise, all participating Member States are requested to complete the Review Questionnaire prepared by the GFMD Review Expert Team no later than Monday, 16 July 2018 by close of business hours.
 
The questionnaire below[1] is divided into three main parts: 1) about you and your involvement in the GFMD Process; 2) about the added-value of GFMD for your government; and 3) about your perception on future perspectives. In total, there are 15 questions, most of which are open-ended in order to allow you to share your views and experiences, as well as make suggestions on how to enhance certain elements or the GFMD process as a whole.
 
The GFMD Co-Chairs count on your participation in this important exercise. Your valuable feedback would serve not only to inform the GFMD Review findings but also shape the future of the GFMD process.
