A key driver of current efforts to reform skills development in Bangladesh is the need to strengthen linkages between industry and the national training system. Industry Skills Councils (ISCs) help to achieve this by bringing together the major enterprises and industry bodies within an industry sector to discuss skill development issues affecting their sector.



Start-up Visa Program

Canada have adopted the Start-up Visas Programs to facilitate the inward mobility of entrepreneurs.

The Program targets immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build businesses in Canada that:

  • are innovative
  • can create jobs for Canadians
  • can compete on a global scale

Foreign Employer Guarantee Fund

The Foreign Employer Guarantee Fund (FEGF)  helps protect Filipino migrant workers and supports their repatriation. 

For Overseas Filipino Workers recruited through a government-to-government arrangement, the Administration shall, through relevant guidelines, establish and administer a Foreign Employer’s Guarantee Fund (FEGF) which shall be answerable for the Overseas Filipino Workers’ monetary claims arising from breach of contractual obligations. The same must be included in bilateral agreements on government-to-government hiring.

Poverty Reduction through Skills Development for Safe and Regular Migration (PROMISE)

The Poverty Reduction through Safe Migration, Skills Development and Enhanced Job Placement in Cambodia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Myanmar and Thailand (PROMISE) project funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) aims to improve the employability of migrants; to promote safe migration from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar into Thailand; and to contribute to poverty reduction in the region.



Global Alliance on Talent, Entrepreneurship and Skills (GA-TES)

This strategic alliance will bring together select industry bodies from across the world to represent important geographies that currently share demographic and economic growth challenges – declining workforce, skills shortages, low productivity, low demand – and can benefit significantly from the mobility of talent, the portability of skills and entrepreneurial collaboration.
