The UK signed up to the WHO Code of Practice in the International recruitment of health personnel. National Health Service in the UK strongly advised to adhere to the code of practice in all matters concerning international recruitment of health care professionals across all disciplines.
The medical training initiative accommodates overseas post-graduate medical specialists to undertake a fixed period of training in the UK for up to two years. This is a temporary route and it seeks to promote circular migration so that participants in a particular scheme could return to their home country and apply the skills and knowledge developed during that time in the UK.

The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) was established in 1966 under the Ministry of Health. All the people who contribute to the Fund have access to its facilities and to government hospitals and certain private hospitals within the country. This service is also provided to migrant workers.
In Russia, special language courses have been established. There are now more than 300 special language courses which operate together with partners from diaspora, academics and NGO’s. Two special centers have been also established. It is a pilot project to support, educate and empower migrants.
The Argentinean National Institute against Discrimination, Xenophobia and Racism, is an organ of the Government that promotes different initiatives in order to promote more inclusive policies. They have produced a Discrimination Map of Argentina and organised community workshops.

The Argentinean National Migration Directorate established via its disposition N. 53253/2005 a "National Program for Migrant Documents Regularization", which was also called "Patria Grande". This programme was arranged to regularize the immigration status of natives of foreign countries belongining to MERCOSUR (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela) and their associate member countries (Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru and Suriname), that were residing in Argentina prior to April 17th, 2006.
TOKTEN is jointly administered by UNDP and UNV (UN Volunteers). Inaugurated in 1977, it aims to transfer technical expertise of expatriates through short term consultancies in their countries of origin. These are not envisaged as employment missions, but rather as short-term voluntary services.
