Established in 2006, the NGO Committee on Migration is a committee of non-governmental organisations, which has consultative status with the ECOSOC. The Committee brings together over 50 NGOs who seek to realize justice for migrants, refugees, stateless persons, internally displaced persons, and trafficked persons. 

Morocco's Migration Policies and the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration

In Morocco, national consultations were held in September 2017 with civil society and diaspora representivatives, scholars and researchers, represensatives of the private sector and public institutions. These national consultations have enabled Morocco to come with a consolidated contribution to the Global Compact, the "Recommendations of the Kingdom of Morocco on the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration."

Presidential Regulation on the management of refugees

In 2016, the Goverment of Indonesia adopted a presidential regulation on the management of refugees from other countries. The Regulation states that the Government works with UNHCR and IOM in managing refugees in Indonesia.

Under the Perpres, the handling of refugees is coordinated by the Minister (which deals with political, legal, and security affairs). The coordination is in the formulation of policies including: a. Discovery; b. Shelter; c. Security; and d. Immigration Supervision.

Presidential Decree No. 125

In the end of 2016, the Government of Indonesia has enacted the Presidential Decree No. 125 to be an operational guideline in the handling of refugees, especially during emergencies. 

It provides greater clarity regarding the status of an estimated 14,000 asylum seekers and refugees currently residing in Indonesia as they hope to be resettled elsewhere.

European Agenda on Migration

Through the  European Agenda on Migration, the EU aims to provide its Member States with tools to build up a coherent and comprehensive approach to reap the benefits and address the challenges deriving from migration, in the medium as well as long term.The European Commission's agenda on migration sets out a European response, combining internal and external policies, making best use of EU agencies and tools, and involving all actors.
