The Government of Lebanon holds annual conferences for diaspora focused on investment opportunities and incentives in the country.
At the same time, the government of Lebanon holds conferences abroad targeting the Lebanese diaspora on various topics, to provide and talk about investment opportunities in Lebanon. The most recent one was held in France and focused on Energy.
“Making integration work: experiences from Morocco, Turkey and Germany” – this was the theme of the Integration Strategy Group (ISG), a transnational reflection group consisting of approximately twenty German, Moroccan and Turkish participants from different disciplines including politics, administration, civil society, media and research.
With the objective of improving the integration of migrants in Morocco, GIZ commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) supports local actors in the implementation of pilot projects to facilitate economic, social and cultural integration. The CSO Regional Development Agencies of Morazán and La Unión in El Salvador worked with some municipalities and diaspora in the US to support youth in starting up their own businesses and cooperatives, which included access to social finance.
This case study draws on good practice from projects supported by the UN Joint Migration and Development Initiative (JMDI) in El Salvador and explores how to establish youth-led businesses at the local level, with support from the diaspora, as a vehicle to promote local development and provide alternatives to irregular migration.

The Global Platform is an international endeavour to provide emergency scholarships to Syrian students and enable them to acquire professional qualifications. Furthermore, it also aims at forging collective political will and to mobilise concerted action aimed at promoting Higher Education in Emergencies at large and to place it high on the international agenda.
Through implementation of the project activities, useful practice was identified which contribute to the timely and adequate respond. Through mobile time that included cultural mediator it was indicated that through such a practice it is easier to provide adequate support. Cultural mediators, have provided assistance to vulnerable population through a specialized case management in gender-based violence, safety planning, follow-up of cases, referral, psychosocial support, but they also became engaged in the activities dedicated to the best interests assessment and referral of such cases.
Liechtenstein Languages is a non-profit language course project. It is designed to 1.) train language trainers and 2.) teach German or other languages to migrants and refugees who have arrived and settled in Europe, especially in German speaking countries (Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland).
The project, cofinanced by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, aims to optimise the transition between pre-integrative language-learning, information and advice courses abroad and initial language teaching, as well as further integration measures provided by the Federal Government in Germany.
Kiron Open Higher Education is a social start-up founded in 2014 with the aim of removing existing barriers and provide higher education to refugees. The university offers an innovative combination of online and offline learning to provide accessible, sustainable, and cost-effective education. Kiron is investing in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to facilitate integration of migrants through education.
