AFFORD-UK is a non profit-making diaspora organization which supports diaspora-based business and job creation in countries of origin through various types of partnership. As one practical example of a partnership that delivers business services to microenterprises, AFFORD has recruited African professionals in the UK and sent them as diaspora volunteers to Sierra Leone.

The International Forum of Moroccan Competencies Abroad (FINCOME - Forum International des Compétences Marocaines Résidant à l’Étranger)

The International Forum of Moroccan Competencies Abroad (Forum International des Compétences Marocaines Résidant à l’Étranger) was set up in 2007 to mobilize the skills and investments of Moroccans abroad to support development projects under the national economic and social plan. Based on a public-private partnership around business, science and research interests, it involves the diaspora in its planning. Their expertise offers a more cost effective alternative to expensive foreign experts working on development schemes in Morocco.

Birthright Program

The Taglit-Birthright Israel program aims to strengthening Jewish identity, Jewish communities, and solidarity with Israel via an educational trip to Israel for Jewish young adults around the world.

National Pact for the Elimination of Slave Labour in the Clothing Manufacturing Sector

The National Pact for the Elimination of Slave Labour was signed in 2005 by 100 different entities, with private companies, economic groups and 11 business entities (in 2010 there were already 130 signataries).

The Pact envisages the introduction of tools that will be used for the business sector and society to prevent the use of slave labour in the productive chain.

The government of Belgium has established a web portal dedicated to linking African diaspora entrepreneurs residing in Europe to sources of funding in selected countries of origin.
