Bilateral cooperation agreement between the Bahamas and Haiti

The Bahamas and the Haitian governments signed three agreements intended to further trade development between both countries and lead to a decrease in illegal migration. The agreements include a framework for bilateral cooperation, an agreement on trade and technical cooperation in agriculture and fisheries, and an agreement on the promotion and protection of investments. They cover the “need to create favourable conditions for investments” in both the Bahamas and Haiti, and urged each side to promote possible investments in one another’s private sectors, among other provisions.

Overall Assistance for Startup Immigration System (OASIS)

The OASIS project, Overall Assistance for Startup Immigration System, which is enforced by the Department of Justice and the Small and Medium Business Administration, and operated by 5 institutions designated as "Global Start-up Immigration Centers" (KIPA, Korea Immigration Service Foundation, Seoul Global Center, Korea Techno Venture Foundation and Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology), is a system to help foreigners establish start-up companies in Korea based on their intellectual properties.

Sendai Cooperation Initiative for Disaster Risk Reduction

The Sendai Cooperation Initiative for Disaster Risk Reduction outlines Japan's cooperation for disaster risk reduction (DRR) from 2015 to 2018, through a triple approach combining: 1) non-material assistance, such as human resource development and institutional development, 2) material assistance centering on the development of quality infrastructure, and 3) the promotion of global and region-wide cooperation.          

Montevideo Consensus on Population and Development

Official representatives from 38 member countries and associate members of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) adopted the Montevideo Consensus on Population and Development, which contains a series of agreements to strengthen the implementation of population and development issues beyond 2014, at the end of the First session of the Regional Conference on Population and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean, which was held from 12 to 15 August 2013 in the capital of Uruguay.



Ministry of State for Migration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad

The Ministry of State for Migration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad has been established in 2015, which is related to the migrants. This is a very important development for Egypt since it’s the Egyptian diaspora who has for the first time influenced this work. In the previous years the migration issues were mostly handled by the Ministry of Labour. Egypt is highly focused on diplomacy and aims to make sure that the migrants abroad contribute to the economic development of the country.

The Bulgarian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has a network of Offices for Labour and Social Affairs in four EU countries. The so-called “labour attachés” that head these four offices provide labour and social affairs services to Bulgarian citizens in seven countries.
