The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) have begun construction of a Migration Consultation Centre (MCC) in Sunyani. The construction is part of a larger information campaign to promote safe and legal migration under IOM’s Ghana Integrated Migration Management Approach (GIMMA) project, funded by the European Union (EU). The MCC aims to facilitate and empower migrants to travel in a legal, voluntary, orderly and protected way.

For the first time since independence in 1957, the Government of Ghana has formulated a National Migration Policy (NMP) to help manage its internal and international migration flows in the context of national development as well as sub-regional, regional and global interests. The Government of Ghana formally approved it in April 2015, policy which was developed with support from IOM Ghana and the IOM Development Fund (IDF).

In 2012, Ghana adopted the Act 848 which amends the Immigration Act, 2000 (Act 573) to provide for the offence of migrant smuggling. This act defines what migrant smuggling is and the penalties incurring for people engaged in migrant smuggling.

International Organization for Migration (IOM)'s project aims to support the relevant authorities and other stakeholders in migration management with a focus on promoting the health and wellbeing amongst migrants transiting through Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen and Libya. All countries and the activities are ODA eligible.

This agreement aims to design together active policies of labour mobility research, in order to face shared challenges on this matter. It also seeks to guarantee decent labour conditions for temporary migrant employees from both countries. Furthermore, it tries to create binational database in order to make a fair recruitment that guarantees the rights of migrant workers.

This law has been established given the need to build a uniform legal framework for the integration of foreigners in the economic, social and cultural life of the Republic of Moldova, to ensure the rights, freedoms and obligations. This law provides partial transposition of the European Council Directive no. 83/2004/CE of 29 April 2004 on minimum standards for the qualification to be third country nationals or stateless persons as refugees or benefit of persons who otherwise need international protection and the content protection granted.  

Confronted with the need to help refugees, a group of Portuguese institutions decided to establish a platform to support those who come to Portugal. The joint initiative provides a national framework for the coordination of action to address the arrival of refugees in the course of the next two years. The objective of this platform is to centralize the offers of host homes, municipalities, local authorities and enterprises willing to help by rendering available human and material resources like employment, guidance and information. 

The plan is focused on different priorities such as promoting an inclusive economic model and advancing universal social services and social protection. It also places human rights at the centre of policy making, including human rights of migrants and their families. It contains different points of action, and one of them is to support migrants abroad and link them to political, social and economic events in El Salvador.

The twinning project  "Support to the National Asylum System in the Republic of Serbia“ is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration and Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia in partnership with the Swedish Migration Agency, Immigration and Naturalization Service of the Netherlands and Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Slovenia.

The Government of Nigeria has formally adopted a National Policy on Migration and its Implementation Plan in 2015, with support from IOM and the European Union (EU). The policy and its implementation plan provide an appropriate legal framework for monitoring and regulating internal and international migration, and proper collection and dissemination of migration data.
