The Scanlon Foundation Research Institute’s Mapping Social Cohesion study is the pre-eminent source of information on social cohesion in Australia. Running since 2007 and with surveys of the Australian population conducted annually since 2009, the study provides a rich and long-running set of data on social cohesion, immigration, multiculturalism, migrant settlement and integration and a range of other topical issues.

Operacao Acolhida (Operation Welcome)

In order to guarantee humanitarian assistance to Venezuelan refugees and migrants in Roraima, Venezuela's main gateway to Brazil, the federal government created Operation Welcome in 2018.

A large humanitarian task force executed and coordinated by the federal government with the support of federal entities, UN agencies, international organisations, civil society organisations and private entities, totalling more than 100 partners, the Operation offers emergency assistance to Venezuelan refugees and migrants entering Brazil via the border with Roraima.

Extending social protection to migrant workers, refugees and their families

In response to increasing concern for migrant workers social protection rights, this Guide seeks to provide policymakers and practitioners with an overview of the legal framework and policy options relating to migrants and refugees access to social protection.
It also offers practical guidance based on country and regional practices that may inspire countries when engaging in legal reforms, negotiating social security agreements and designing social protection schemes.

E-Mindful Project

Aware of the divisive potential of an increasing polarized public discourse on migration, the project will pool lessons from selected awareness-raising campaigns on migration. Such analysis will offer evidence-based grounds to develop innovative prototypes of awareness-raising/edutainment formats in collaboration with communication experts at the national level, including University faculties of semiotics, communication and marketing, schools of journalism/TV/radio and art.

Return of the Icons programme

Return of the Icons is an initiative from AFFORD Institute that explores and takes forward key conversations around African human remains and cultural artefacts held by UK museums and other institutions. It also considers issues around their preservation and protection, as well as campaigns for their eventual return to their countries of origin, as part of a process of leveraging heritage and culture for job creation and prosperity.
