A program which invites Diaspora Armenian professionals to serve in the public sector and in the government of the Republic of Armenia.

The Republic of Armenia's Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs announces the launch of the ´iGorts 2023ª program, which invites Diaspora Armenian professionals to serve in Armeniaís and Artsakhís government for a duration of one year.

SEAD (Servicio de Educación a Distancia- "Remote Educaction System")

The Distance Education Service (SEAD) provides Primary and Secondary Education to those students who are temporarily residing abroad. In this way, they are given the possibility of continuing to practice the national language, maintaining the feeling of belonging to the country of origin and facilitating their reincorporation into the Argentine Educational System.

The SEAD is aimed at Argentine students or children of Argentines residing abroad. This modality is not available for those students who live in Argentina.

Diaspora 4 Climate Action (D4C)

The UK is home to some of the largest diaspora communities worldwide and to help leverage this untapped potential, IOM UK launches the Diaspora for Climate Action (D4C) project.The project will enable diaspora members to build connections with key stakeholders in Bangladesh, Jamaica, Ghana and Albania that can help them achieve more effective and coordinated climate action, and greater and longer-lasting impacts on climate-vulnerable populations.

Enabling remittances in Africa (PRIME Africa)

Since 2021, the partnership between Cenfri and IFAD through the Remittance Access Initiative (RAI) programme, co-financed by the European Union, has supported 14 remittance service providers (RSPs) in the seven PRIME Africa countries, to enable financial inclusion of remittance families. Through innovations on identity and digital financial services, RAI supports RSPs in lowering remittance transfer costs while simplifying onboarding requirements for low-income, rural and vulnerable families.

Alternative to Detention Pilot Program for unaccompanied migrant and asylum seeker children in Mexico

This project built on the progress to date in developing and implementing a framework and shifting perspective on alternatives to immigration detention (ATD) in Mexico, with the specific aim of fostering sustainability and empowering local stakeholders towards building preventative and community-based ATD models for the longer term through collaborative initiatives.

Thailand's National Screening Mechanism

Thailand’s National Screening Mechanism (NSM) will be established to screen those who have protection claims in Thailand and grant a 'protected person status' to eligible applicants which in theory would protect them from arbitrary detention. However, many details remain unclear, including what protections persons with ‘protected person status’ will be able to access, and whether they will be protected from detention in practice. Discussions are ongoing for how this will be implemented.

Residence for humanitarian reasons for Ukrainian citizens and their immediate family members

The National Directorate of Migrations issued on March 2022 Provision N° 417/2022 that authorizes the entry and stay in Argentina for humanitarian reasons of Ukrainian citizens and their direct family members, regardless of their nationality, in response to the crisis caused by the war that is going through that country. The measure aims to facilitate and guarantee family reunification of Ukrainian citizens, who are exempt from paying migration fees.
