Sri Lanka adopted the Inter-Ministerial and Inter-Agency Coordination Framework for development and support of the National Migration Health Policy, which coordinates many sectors involved in promoting the health of migrants and families left-behind.

Healthy Migrants in Healthy Communities

Through its policy of “Healthy Migrants in Healthy Communities,” Thailand has provided access to health services and health insurance for both documented and undocumented migrants including their dependents.

Under the Compulsory Migration Health Insurance (CMHI) scheme, the yearly premium for an adult is an affordable 1,600 THB or 44 USD per year, while the premium for a child is only 365 THB or 11 USD per year.

Global Platform for Syrian Students

The platform aims to enable Syrian students to resume their university studies in Portugal under an emergency scholarship program.  

The Global Platform is an international endeavour to provide emergency scholarships to Syrian students and enable them to acquire professional qualifications. Furthermore, it also aims at forging collective political will and to mobilise concerted action aimed at promoting Higher Education in Emergencies at large and to place it high on the international agenda.

Diaspora Week

Safe Labour Migration Programme

Currently in its third phase, the ILO Safe Labour Migration Programme in Sri Lanka contributes to promote safe and regular migration through improved policies and legal frameworks related to labour migration and better service provision to migrant workers and their families.

Overseas Filipino Workers- Help Desk

The establishment of OFW Help Desks is mandated by the Migrant Workers’ Act (RA 8042 as amended by RA 10022), and is institutionalized with a Memorandum of Agreement on Convergence Program for OFWs forged by DOLE, TESDA, POEA and OWWA with the local government.

These help desks are established at the local level to attend to the problems and concerns of the OFWs and their families, and to provide information on all aspect of overseas employment.

National Framework on Prevention of Sexual and Gender based Violence

The labour migration/foreign employment sector is one of 9 sectors included in the “National Framework on Prevention of Sexual and Gender based Violence” developed through support of the United National Development Programme under the leadership of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs.

Georgian State Commission on Migration Issues

The State Commission on Migration Issues was set up on 13 October 2010 on the basis of the Government's Decree No. 314. The Commission is the Government's consultative body to discuss and take decisions on various important issues related to migration management.

The Commission comprising of 12 government entities is chaired by the Minister of Justice and co-chaired by the Deputy Minister of the Interior.

eMigrate Project

eMigrate project is a transformational initiative of the Overseas Employment Division of MEA, Government of India, to automate the current emigration processes and eco-system.

The ministry has undertaken this transformational e-governance program with a vision to transform emigration into a simple, transparent, orderly and humane process.
