The Commission on Filipinos Overseas designed the Lingkod sa Kapwa Pilipino or LINKAPIL Program in 1989. It has resulted in the forging of broader and deeper partnerships between Filipinos beyond borders. As a vehicle of service to fellow Filipinos, LINKAPIL provides a mechanism for the transfer of various forms of resources from Filipinos overseas to support small-scale, high-impact projects that address the country's social and economic development needs.
The Balik Scientist Program (BSP) was established in 1975 to encourage overseas Filipino scientists, professionals and technicians to return or reside in the Philippines, and share their expertise in order to accelerate the scientific, agro-industrial and economic development of the country.
The OFW Reintegration Program (OFW-RP) is a special loan program of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in partnership with the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) and the Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank). The National Rapporteur reports on Trafficking in Human Beings and Sexual Violence against Children in the Netherlands. The Rapporteur’s main task is to report on the nature and extent of human trafficking and sexual violence against children in the Netherlands, and on the effects of the government policies pursued. The reports contain information on relevant regulations and legislation, as well as information on prevention, criminal investigations regarding human trafficking and sexual violence against children, prosecution of perpetrators and victim support.
The Netherlands’ pilot on circular migration will give about 160 migrants, all professionals with vocational training, an opportunity to gain working experience for a period of two years in Dutch companies. They are employed in regular vacancies in sectors where there are shortages in the Dutch labor market. The training will be based on a personal development plan, focusing on return. Upon return in their home countries the migrants will be assisted in finding a (better) job, starting up their own business and investing their remittances.
The Ventanilla de Salud is a program of the Government of Mexico developed by the Department of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented through 50 Mexican consulates in the United States and local health organizations. The Ventanillas provide reliable information on health topics, counseling and referrals to health services available and accessible in local communities.
The objective of this card is to provide Mexican migrant workers in the United States with a document that can act as an identify card, thus facilitating access to services. An additional objective is to streamline assistance and lower remittance transfer costs.
