Social Inclusion of Children Left Behind by Migrant Parents

The project goal is to help reduce the vulnerability of migrants' children to different social risks by raising the public awareness and developing the capacities of children, parents and professionals to respond appropriately to the consequences of migration. The OSCE and the Child Rights Information Centre (CRIC) have been working with governments and with local authorities to promote to support the so-called "social orphans" in Moldova, which put the children left behind under the guardianship of the State in public institutions. 

Partnership between Egypt and Italy for Education and Training for Egyptian Youth in Fayoum Governorate

The Advanced Technical School for Hotel Management and Tourism Services decided in 2019 to partner with the Italian Tourism School Elena Cornaro of Jesolo to provide its students high quality education and training that are in line with both national and international labour market requirements.

SPARK

There is little support for students and entrepreneurs in regions affected by conflict, the climate crisis or displacement. Even when education is available, it is hard, if not impossible, for motivated, talented young people to access the labour market. Spark has 25 years of experience in develops higher education and entrepreneurship for young people in conflict and post-conflict zones, allowing them to develop a cross-sector approach that opens up pathways to employment for potential entrepreneurs.

Bi-national Migrant Education Program (PROBEM)

The Bi-national Migrant Education Program (PROBEM) targets the educational problem of the migrant population between both countries. It aims to ensure the continuity and quality of children and young people basic education that spend part of their school year in Mexico and another in the USA.  

This program falls under the Mexico-United States Cooperation Initiative on Education that has established programs in the US to facilitate access to education for Mexican migrants and increase their potential to adapt locally.

 

Child Protection Monitoring System

The CPMRS project, launched by UNICEF in 2006 in association with key government and university partners, was intended to develop an integrated child protection system in the six tsunami-affected provinces in southern Thailand. The project was expected to: increase public awareness of children’s rights to protection; track the magnitude of child protection issues at local, provincial and national levels in Thailand; and provide adequate response mechanisms for identifying children in need of special protection and for delivering suitable child protection services as early as possible.
