Tunisia has set up and created a Ministry of Development of Information Technologies in 2012 as well developed a five year national digital strategy up to 2018 to allow for better connectivity both within community and internationally with partners abroad and especially with Tunisian diaspora.

Prometeo Viejos Sabios

Prometeo Viejos Sabios is an initiative established by the government of Ecuador  to do skill mapping of diaspora and using the skills of diaspora to meet the needs of the country.  This includes identifying  the skilled migrants living abroad and the kind of projects they engage with and based on the needs of the country. They try to attract the migrants back temporarily or permanently so that they could contribute to scientific or health projects in Ecuador.  

Program RAICES

The Programa RAICES, Argentina is an initiative to reach out to expatriate researchers and encourage them to contribute to the national S&T system ant to develop scientific cooperation and research networks using connectivity.  Migrants can contribute from abroad and this is one way the Argentinian government can foster the return of skilled migrants.

The National Competitiveness Foundation

The National Competitiveness Foundation in Armenia  is an initiative to attract the investment of diaspora using connectivity to help boost the economy in the home country. It is a public-private partnership established by the Government of Armenia and a group of leading private sector representatives. The purpose of the Foundation is to develop, implement and monitor projects in sectors - mainly education, health, health care and tourism - where there is a significant unrealized potential for development and a clear competitive advantage with a regional and global context. 

World Korean Business Convention

Since 2002, South Korea organises the World Korean Business Convention from time to time that relies on connectivity for migrants abroad. The Purpose is to rely on diaspora to foster trade and promote Korean export, by building an integrated global network of domestic and overseas Korean businesses

Radyo Tambuli

Radyo Tambuli is a mobile application in Tagalog (in English it means bugle horn or trumpet) that has been tested in the US whereby Filipinos in the US can access and look at the systems and programmes available to them as provided by the Philippines embassy in the US. This also includes a sort of e-911 facility where they could signal if they need any help or have a query/concern that the embassy could respond to. 

Platform on Disaster Displacement

Established in 2016 by Germany (Chair) and Bangladesh (Vice-Chair), the Platform on Disaster Displacement aims at following up on the work started by the Nansen Initiative and to implement the recommendations of the Nansen Initiative Protection Agenda, endorsed by 109 governmental delegations during a Global Consultation in October 2015.

Legal and Constitutional Framework of Kenya protecting equality and workers rights

Consitution Article 27(ii)

The government provides equal access to legal protection and social services to all migrants. This is guaranteed in both the constitution and statutes. Article 27(ii) of the Constitution states that every person is equal before the law and has the right to equal protection and equal benefit of the law. This equality includes the full and equal enjoyment of all rights and fundamentals freedoms for both women and men. It guarantees the right to equal treatment, including the right to equal opportunities in political, economic, cultural and social spheres.

The establishment of a Directorate of Diaspora, Burundi

In 2009, the Government of Burundi created a Directorate for the Diaspora at the Ministry of External Relations and International Cooperation. Several activities by this department eventually led to the launch of the National Policy for the Diaspora on 3 June 2016. This included a recommendation to develop a strategic implementation plan.
