Zimbabwe’s National Diaspora Policy

Zimbabwe’s National Diaspora Policy provides for a comprehensive national framework to formally mainstream the diaspora into national development processes. It aims to develop measures to enhance protection of Zimbabweans abroad, and establish mechanisms for the transfer and repatriation of terminal, pension, and social security benefits for retired returnees through conclusion of bilateral labour agreements with host countries.

 

The Zimbabwe Trafficking in Persons (TiP) National Plan of Action (NAPLAC)

In July 2016, the Government of Zimbabwe has launched a Trafficking in Persons (TiP) National Plan of Action (NAPLAC) to operationalize the Trafficking in Persons Act which was passed in 2014 to fight against human trafficking in the country.

Officially launched by Zimbabwe Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the plan was developed with technical support from IOM, UNODC and the SADC Secretariat. 

Pilot project for business mobility between Belgium and Senegal (PEM-WECCO)

This circular mobility scheme makes knowledge and practical exchange possible between Belgian and Senegalese companies. With a view to building the capacities of Senegalese entrepreneurs and connecting them to their Belgian peers, the project aims to offer short-term migration opportunities for business purposes while contributing to the construction of a sustainable economic partnership between the two countries.

EU Working Party on External Aspects of Asylum and Migration

The Working Party on External Aspects of Asylum and Migration is responsible for discussing the EU’s approach to countries and regions of origin and transit of asylum-seekers and migrants, as well as third countries of reception of refugees, without geographical limitation.

The working party provides guidance on strengthening the external dimension of the EU's asylum and migration policy and improving cooperation with third countries in the field of migration.

Study on best practices in irregular migration awareness-raising campaigns

DG HOME commissioned a study to Ecorys to assess the validity of communication campaigns as an effective tool for migration management. The study presents best practices from 20 existing campaigns, and seeks to highlight ways to improve the quality and effectiveness of future campaigns. The final report presents the cumulative results of the two phases of this study. First, the report presents key findings on research and design, delivery and working methods, and monitoring and evaluation methods. Second, the key findings are followed by recommendations.

Mobility Agreement - Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP)

the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) has officially signed a mobility agreement that will permit the granting of visas and residence permits as well as the movement of its citizens within the Communityís member countries.
The Agreement aims at facilitating the entry and stay of citizens from a CPLP Member State in the territory of another Member State through the following immigration titles: (i) CPLP short-term visa; (ii) CPLP temporary stay visa; (iii) CPLP residence visa; and (iv) CPLP residence permit.
