MEDMA2 (Mobilisation des Marocains Résidant à l'Étranger pour le Maroc) is a pilot project aimed at mobilising the Moroccan Diaspora legally settled in Belgium to contribute to the development of their country of origin. Financed by the Belgian Cooperation agency, the project has been implemented since May 2012 by the International Organization for Migration, through its offices in Rabat and Brussels.

This project is implemented in close collaboration with the Ministry in charge of Moroccans living abroad (MCCMRE) and the Foundation Hassan II (FHII).

Diaspora Support Unit

The Diaspora Support Unit within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana hosts and maintains a diaspora website which serves as a platform for facilitating the engagement of the country’s emigrants in sustainable development by the Government of Ghana.

SamenWerk Foundation for International Cooperation

Since 1996, the Dutch city of Almere has maintained friendship relations with the city of Kumasi in Ghana. In 2001, the Mayors of Almere and Kumasi signed the “Sister Cities Agreement 2001-2006”, in which the principles of their co-operation are laid down.

This agreement involves Ghanaian migrants that facilitate collaboration in the areas of waste management, urban planning, women empowerment and cultural exchanges.

Rwandan Diaspora Guide

The Rwandan Diaspora Guide provides information to Rwandan Diaspora on national procedures and opportunities. Information is included on diaspora mobilisation and advocacy, knowledge transfer, money transfer, business or investment opportunities and available facilities for Rwandan Diaspora.

Honduras Global

More than 30% of qualified Hondurans have emigrated. Some of these emigrants have founded a network called "Honduras Global" in which they systematically organize a knowledge transfer back to Honduras. With support from the Honduran government, the private sector, foundations and GIZ, the network organizes mentoring, summer schools and networking as well as fundraising for start-ups.

Diaspora For Development of Cape Verde (DIAS de Cabo Verde)

The Dias De Cabo Verde project (Diaspora for Development of Cape Verde), was initiated by the Cape Verdean Institute of Communities, with IOM as the main implementing partner. It aimed at mobilizing the human, social and professional resources of Cape Verdeans living abroad towards the capacity-building of key development sectors in Cape Verde, such as health, education, infrastructure and tourism.
