Accompanying program of business creation by Moroccans residing in France

The general objective is to support productive investments of Moroccans investors living in France with i) a dedicated support mechanism for Moroccans entrepreneurs based in France and in Morocco ii) activities with public institutions to improve the investment environment for Moroccans residing abroad
Activities:
1. Strengthen capacities of a dedicated unit for the coordination of economic initiatives of Moroccans residing abroad within the MCMREAM.

MEDMA II (Pilot Project for the Mobilization of Moroccan Residing in Belgium for the Development of Morocco)

In Morocco, IOM is assisting Moroccan expatriates based in Belgium to establish businesses in their communities by: (a) providing financial support; (b) through a partnership with the Solvay Business School, providing technical support in business planning and; (c) helping to navigate the bureaucratic procedures for establishing a business in Morocco. Through this project, IOM also manages a website that provides information on opportunities as well as how to invest and start a business in Morocco (www.guide-entreprise.org/maroc).

Integrated legislative approach: bills for asylum seekers, anti-human trafficking and immigration.

The asylum seekers bill aims to ensure the protection for all people having fear of persecution because of their race and ethnicity. The anti-human trafficking bill has the objective of criminalizing human trafficking and protecting its victims. The bill on immigration aims to regulate entry and residence of people in Morocco. 

Tamkine Migrants for women migrants

Jointly financed by the European Union (EU) and Terre des hommes, the “Tamkine-Migrants” project principally aims at improving access to healthcare and educational services and for justice for migrant women and children from the Sub-Sahara. In Morocco, the project is carried out with the Associations « Medecins du Monde » Belgium, the Moroccan Association for Solidarity and Development (AMSED) and the Association for Fight against AIDS (ALCS), in partnership with the Ministry of Health, National Mutual Aid.

Ministry in Charge of Moroccans Living Abroad and Migration Affairs

Abroad, the priorities revolve around issues of identity, cultural rights, integration and social support. Inside Morocco, three priorities guide the work of this Ministry, aiming at restoring the confidence of members of CMRE in the administration, strengthening of support for their return and their mobilization for participation in development efforts in Morocco.

Observatory on the Moroccan migrant community living abroad

In 1990, under the patronage of King Hassan II, the Foundation for Moroccans Living Abroad was created to promote economic and cultural co-operation with the diaspora and to support them. This Foundation, in co-operation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) established an Observatory of the Moroccan Community Living Abroad (EOMC), which offers an information system for the government on migration management issues.
