Submitted by Mr. Dário Muhamudo on

The Portuguese Government has adopted since 2007 different National Plans against Trafficking in Human Beings. The first from 2007 - 2010, the second between 2011 - 2013 and the most recent one for the 2014 - 2017 period.

Submitted by Mr. Dário Muhamudo on

The National Centers for Immigrant Support were created in 2004 to address some of the challenges faced by immigrants in their integration process in Portugal. Due to the cultural differences, differences in the society, differences in the legal system and the number of different services to which the immigrants have to access led to the creation of a center that would bring together in the same space all different services, institutions and offices available to immigrants.

Submitted by Mr. Dário Muhamudo on

CAMPO started as a project in the area of migration that promoted regular mobility between Cape Verde and the European Union (EU): Strengthening the capacity of Cape Verde to manage labour and return migration within the Framework of the Mobility Partnership EU/CV. It provides free counseling services to Cape-Verdean citizens willing to migrate to the EU. It also provided reintegration information to EU retuning Cape Verdean migrants.

Action Plan for the Integration of Immigrants (2nd Edition)

Submitted by Mr. Dário Muhamudo on

Portugal's Action Plan for the Integration of Immigrants (in its second edition) embodies the "whole of government" approach at the heart of mainstreaming: it tackles integration issues across different sectors (employment, health, education, etc) across distinct target groups (descendants of immigrants, family reunification, older migrants, etc) and across the government (involving 10 ministries).

Handbook on How to Implement a One-Stop-Shop for Immigrant Integration

Submitted by Mr. Dário Muhamudo on

This Handbook presents the One-Stop-Shop approach as a holistic strategy for mainstreaming the provision of immigration services and facilitating migrant integration process.  The One-Stop Shop promotes the idea that integration is a two-way process, where the receiving society actively engages in ensuring the integration and adaptation of migrants.
