Law on Integration of Foreigners

This law has been established given the need to build a uniform legal framework for the integration of foreigners in the economic, social and cultural life of the Republic of Moldova, to ensure the rights, freedoms and obligations. This law provides partial transposition of the European Council Directive no. 83/2004/CE of 29 April 2004 on minimum standards for the qualification to be third country nationals or stateless persons as refugees or benefit of persons who otherwise need international protection and the content protection granted.  

EQUI HEALTH project

The project seeks to improve access and appropriateness of health care services, health promotion and prevention for migrants. The EQUI HEALTH project also supports the development of a harmonized EU approach for access to and appropriate provision of healthcare for migrants and ethnic minorities. It works towards the reduction of health inequalities faced by migrants, Roma and other vulnerable ethnic minority groups.

Five-year Development Plan (2014-2019)

The plan is focused on different priorities such as promoting an inclusive economic model and advancing universal social services and social protection. It also places human rights at the centre of policy making, including human rights of migrants and their families. It contains different points of action, and one of them is to support migrants abroad and link them to political, social and economic events in El Salvador.

Improving human security in the bateyes

The goal of the project is to protect residents in the bateyes from physical threats to their human security while empowering isolated communities to access their rights by way of: (i) ensuring that Haitians, Dominicans of Haitian descent, and Dominicans living in the bateyes are protected from threats to personal and political security; (ii) strengthening economic security by enhancing people’s income generation capacity and providing educational opportunities; (iii) decreasing the high levels of food insecurity; (iv) advancing health security by increasing access to basic primary care and

Improving human security for vulnerable communities in southwest Serbia

The project’s objective is to promote economic security and social cohesion towards improving the overall human security of vulnerable communities in Sandžak. To this end, the project proposes to: (i) improve income generation and open employment opportunities for vulnerable populations; (ii) enhance inter-ethnic understanding and community cohesion; (iii) increase access to social and public services and provide official documentation to displaced groups; and (iv) promote the human security concept within central and local governments and civil society organizations.

Strengthening human security through poverty reduction and sustainable social development for refugees and local host communities

The project’s goal was to address the needs of refugees and vulnerable host populations in Gabon. Through inter-agency collaboration, combined with top-down and bottom-up strategies, the project aimed to: (i) improve livelihoods through agricultural development and income generating activities; (ii) ensure access to basic health care services for refugees and vulnerable host populations; (iii) provide support to victims of sexual and gender-based violence; and (iv) promote education and skills training for groups at risk.
