Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper 2005 (Bangladesh)

This paper focuses on the National Strategy for Accelerated Poverty Reduction for Bangladesh. The paper discusses that accelerating growth and bringing a pro-poor orientation in the growth process would be achieved through emphasizing four priority areas: accelerated growth in rural areas and development of agriculture and nonfarm economic activities; small and medium manufacturing enterprises; rural electrification, roads, water supply and sanitation; and information and communication technologies.

Patria Grande (National Program for Migrant Documents Regularization)

The Argentinean National Migration Directorate established via its disposition N. 53253/2005 a "National Program for Migrant Documents Regularization", which was also called "Patria Grande". This programme was arranged to regularize the immigration status of natives of foreign countries belongining to MERCOSUR (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela) and their associate member countries (Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru and Suriname), that were residing in Argentina prior to April 17th, 2006.

Policy for migrant workers in the Russian Federation

The Government of the Russian Federation determines every year the need for directing foreign workers, and include them by priority educational and qualification groups, taking into account political, geographical, social and demographical situations in the Russian Federation. The Government of the Russian Federation sets quotas for work permits to foreign citizens.

African Capacity Building Center

The African Capacity Building Centre (ACBC) was established in 2009, in Moshi, United Republic of Tanzania to enhance the migration management capacity of African States, promote comprehensive migration governance and facilitate a diverse range of immigration and border management projects and training courses. The Centre is hosted by the Tanzania Regional Immigration Training Academy (TRITA) and this unique partnership has benefited both in terms of joint training programmes and workshops as well as regional support.

Migration and Development Policies and Practices: A mapping study of eleven European countries and the European Commission

This study has three objectives:

1) analyze migration and development in Europe;

2) provide input for continued policy discussions on migration and development beyond Europe, and;

3) assist states in identifying possible future directions, as well as common ground for addressing migration as an inherent part of development.
