Intersectoral Working Group for Migration Management

Peru has an Intersectoral Working Group for Migration Management (MTIGM), created by Supreme Decree No. 067-2011-PCM and led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to 22 sectors of public administration that comprise it. This mechanism has a Coordination Commission with Civil Society Institutions made up of the following entities:

National Migration Policy

Recognizing the importance and dynamics of migration, as well as the challenges of both immigration and international emigration, the Government of Burundi has initiated the process of drafting and adopting a National Migration Policy. This document resulted in a draft of the National Migration Policy and a National Diaspora Policy that were adopted.

Inter-Ministerial and Inter-Agency Coordination Framework for development and support of the National Migration Health Policy

Sri Lanka adopted the Inter-Ministerial and Inter-Agency Coordination Framework for development and support of the National Migration Health Policy, which coordinates many sectors involved in promoting the health of migrants and families left-behind.

Migration Governance Index

Jointly implemented with the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), the project involves the development of a policy-benchmarking framework to assess the extent to which national migration policies facilitate orderly, safe and well managed migration, as laid out in SDG Target 10.7.

National Framework on Prevention of Sexual and Gender based Violence

The labour migration/foreign employment sector is one of 9 sectors included in the “National Framework on Prevention of Sexual and Gender based Violence” developed through support of the United National Development Programme under the leadership of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs.
