The Municipality of La Pintana, Chile, has kick-started a project working with local businesses called ‘Migra Empresas’, which seeks to bring job offers to migrants and where the city administration provides legal and technical assistance to companies.  This program is part of La Pintana's commitment to work in five areas to make the commune an intercultural territory, inclusive and free of discrimination:

1- Institutionality that addresses the migrant reality.

2- Education and training plans for municipal personnel in this matter.

Comprehensive Information and Orientation Programme (CIOP)

The Comprehensive Information and Orientation Programme (CIOP) implemented currently in the context of the Abu Dhabi Dialogue (ADD) helps operationalize a coordinated management system for the provision of tailored pre-employment, pre-departure and postarrival orientation (PEO, PDO and PAO) services for temporary contractual workers (TCWs) in the GCC states. With technical support from IOM, the governments work towards developing a CIOP regional guide and a corresponding management system, which will then be tailored to operations in the specific country contexts of ADD Member States.

Second National Integration Plan 2018-2020

The Second National Integration Plan for Costa Rica 2018 - 2022, emerges as a propositive response to guide the country's actions over the next few years in terms of integration of the migrant and refugee population. The initiative is based on the framework of the initiative MIgration EU eXpertise (MIEUX) funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).

Papyrus Project

The Papyrus Project, which officially began in February 2017, is a project of the Canton of Geneva, supported by the Swiss Confederation. The project aims to initiate a process of regularisation of undocumented migrants in Geneva and to address the economic sectors affected by undeclared work and unfair remuneration. Operation Papyrus was developed and implemented with the active participation of Geneva associations and trade unions, which advised and supported migrants in the preparation of their regularization file.

ILO Media training programmes and Global Media Competition on Labour Migration

The International Labour Organization (ILO) is provides a series of media training programmes, and has developed a toolkit and glossary for journalists to ensure that journalists are able to (a) share accurate and unbiased information with potential migrants, and (b) contribute to a balanced public narrative on migration. 

In addition, each year the ILO hosts a Global Media Competition on Labour Migration to promote and reward quality reporting on relevant themes such as fair recruitment and the future of labour migration.

My Coop

My.Coop is a project of building capacity of cooperatives towards involving Syrian refugees and Jordanian farmers in agricultural value chains. The project promotes integration and participation of Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in agricultural livelihood opportunities through enhancing capacities of eight ILO-network cooperatives in the governorates of Irbid and Mafraq in the northern Jordan.

Cuidamos Centro

‘Cuidamos Centro’ (‘We Take Care of the Centro District’) is an employment training and practice programme that targets groups at risk of exclusion and long term unemployment in Madrid. The programme is coordinated by the Madrid Municipal Employment Agency and District Board. The initiative provides training and paid employment opportunities for those deemed most excluded from the city’s labour market. Whilst it does not exclusively target foreign-born migrants, the latter group are over-represented among the project’s participants (also known as dynamizers).

Regional Project on Sectoral Qualifications in the Euro-Mediterranean

The 'Cadre National de Certifications' (CNC) is a project which creates a framework for sectoral specific qualifiations in Morocco. The framework acts as a tool at the international level to promote international mobility for students and workers through reference to the 'Cadre Européen des Certifications' (European Qualifications Framework) (CEC), guaranteeing continuity within the education and labor qualifications system. The project, which was begun in Europe, now includes a number of countries south of the Mediterranean, including Morocco.
