EMBRACIN is a comprehensive model for the reception of young adult migrants, with whom we have had experiences in Andalusia in the cities of Seville, Jaén and Cádiz. These three experiences of reception, for a total of 16 young nationals from third countries, are each supported by six professionals from different disciplines: medicine, law, social work, language interpretation, teaching and psychology.

Under the United Nations Migration Network (UNMN) Workplan 2022-2024, the Platform on Disaster Displacement (PDD) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) are working together to develop the Tool to Review the Implementation of the Commitments Related to Addressing Human Mobility in the Context of Disasters, Climate Change and Environmental Degradation – A Baseline Analysis Report Under the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
In 2018, with the adoption of the Marrakech Mayors Declaration, local and regional governments (LRGs) pledged to implement the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) as well as the Global Compact on Refugees (GCR) in unison, as concrete pathways to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
Portugal was (one of) the first countries in the world to approve its National Plan to implement the Global Compact on Migration. The National Implementation Plan is structured around the following 5 fundamental axes:
• Promotion of safe, orderly and regular migration;
• Improvement of migration flow organization and integrated border management processes;
• Promotion and qualification of immigrant reception and integration mechanisms;
• Supporting the connection of migrants to their country of origin and their return projects;
In pursuit of exploring bilateral cooperation on migrant workers with countries that have reformed their regulation on migrant workers so as to provide more protection for them, Indonesia has launched cooperation between Bahrain and the Philippines.
This cooperation includes, for example, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Manpower and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia and the Department of Labor and Employment of the Republic of the Philippines Concerning Migrant Workers.
Formally launched in the Word Urban Forum in 2019, the GFMD provided the opportunity to further discuss and follow-up on the Call to Local Action to implement the Global Compacts for Migration (GCM) and Refugees (GCR). Following the Marrakesh Mayors Declaration, which was signed by over 60 LRAs in December 2018, the Call to Local Action calls on LRAs to pledge specific actions that contribute to the implementation of the Migration and Refugee Compacts.
