UNHCR is developing a five year strategy called 'A Global Strategy on Connectivity for Refugees and Digital Operations.' This strategy will focus on enhancing access to connectivity for all the refugees and the host communities through digital technology which will further improve protection, assistance and provide solutions.
Egypt launched a new national strategy on combating illegal migration under the auspices of the National Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration (NCCPIM). The Strategy, which includes an action plan for the next two years, will ensure the protection of vulnerable migrants in Egypt and will provide viable alternatives to illegal migration.

In 2006 CIETT endorsed its Code of Conduct of the International Confederation of Private Employment Agencies. The Code of Conduct was revised in 2015 to align even more closely with efforts on fair recruitment at the international level and is a reflection of the organizations endorsement of the ILO's Convention No. 181 on Private Employment Agencies.

The Joint Migration and Development Initiative (JMDI) is a global inter-agency programme funded by the European Union and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. It focuses on the local dimension of migrants’ contribution to development and aims to maximize the potential of migration for local development. To achieve this, the JMDI provides technical and financial support to up-scale existing locally-led migration and development initiatives across 15 projects in eight target countries: Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Morocco, Nepal, Philippines, Senegal and Tunisia.
