The National Directorate of Migrations of Argentina implemented through Provision 891/2022 the Special Humanitarian Visa Program for nationals and residents of the United Mexican States, Central America and the Caribbean displaced by socio-natural disasters, named as "Environmental Humanitarian Visa Program", which aims to provide humanitarian protection, planned relocation and lasting solutions to people, nationals and residents in the United Mexican States, Central America and the Caribbean (23 States included) displaced by socio-natural disasters.

Regional Centre of Excellence and Capacity Building for Combatting Trafficking in Persons

Labour Market Regulatory Authority's Regional Centre of Excellence and Capacity Building for Combatting Trafficking in Persons (RCoE) is a specialized centre that is responsible for developing regional-specific modules and training material on combating trafficking in persons and victim assistance, in addition to delivering sessions and workshops, regionally. RCoE targets first responders from government and non-government entities to the crime of trafficking in persons, as well as practitioners who deal with victims of trafficking in persons.

Harmonising guidelines for the movement of persons during health crises in the COMESA region

The COVID-19 pandemic hindered the mobility of goods, services and people all around the world and regional and national authorities struggled to find common guidelines which could be applied homogenously. This was the case also for the Eastern and Southern African region, where different Regional Economic Communities (RECs) operate simultaneously, resulting in overlapping memberships with several countries in the region belonging to various RECs. Of these, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) represents the largest of the eight RECs and comprises 21 Member States.

National Observatory of Migration and Health

In response to the migratory crisis that Colombia has experienced since 2015 due to the migratory flow from Venezuela. Taking into account the need that the Colombian State has to consolidate at the national level timely, and pertinent information on the characterization of the migrant population. Its situation of health, and access to health for the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of health care programs, strategies, and projects. The Ministry of Health, and Social Protection launched on December 2th, 2020 the National Observatory of Migration and Health.

EUDiF’s diaspora engagement mapping

The global mapping of diaspora engagement was created by the EU Global Diaspora Facility (EUDiF), a project funded by the European Union’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) and implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). The map is a unique resource for knowledge about diaspora engagement policies, practices, and priorities around the world, as well as the government institutions and diaspora organizations active in this dynamic space. It is a resource envisioned to assist the entire diaspora development ecosystem.

Comprehensive Information and Orientation Programme (CIOP)

The Comprehensive Information and Orientation Programme (CIOP) implemented currently in the context of the Abu Dhabi Dialogue (ADD) helps operationalize a coordinated management system for the provision of tailored pre-employment, pre-departure and postarrival orientation (PEO, PDO and PAO) services for temporary contractual workers (TCWs) in the GCC states. With technical support from IOM, the governments work towards developing a CIOP regional guide and a corresponding management system, which will then be tailored to operations in the specific country contexts of ADD Member States.

Supporting host communities for refugees and migrants from Venezuela in the border regions of Colombia and Ecuador

Commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), this programme implemented by GIZ supports government institutions, local governments and civil society in the border regions of Colombia with Venezuela and Ecuador with Colombia to better respond to the flow of refugees and migrants from Venezuela and, in the case of Ecuador, also Colombian refugees. The project supports host communities in the integration of refugees and migrants.

 

Towards a Holistic Approach to Labour Migration Governance and Labour Mobility in North Africa (THAMM)

Designed as a regional programme, THAMM supports national institutions to draft and implement policies and mechanisms for safe, orderly and regular migration, as well as fostering cooperation and regional exchange between relevant stakeholders in North Africa. It will also develop and pilot mobility schemes, in particular for young women and men in Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt, who are interested in a dual vocational education training in Germany, or for skilled workers seeking recognition of their qualifications to start working in Germany.

European Qualifications Passport for Refugees

The European Qualifications Passport for Refugees is a document providing an assessment of higher education qualifications designed for refugees, including those who cannot fully document their qualifications. This initiative has inspired a UNESCO led initiative to establish a Global Qualifications Passport for Refugees and Migrants.
