Samoa

The purpose of this Country Strategy Paper (CSP) is to provide a framework for EC co-operation with Samoa under the Cotonou Agreement. The framework is based on global objectives of EC-ACP co-operation, Samoa’s own development policy, an analysis of the political and economic situation in the country, and an assessment of the past co-operation programmes of the EC and other donors. It concludes with the proposed EC response strategy of the 10th EDF and an Indicative Programme.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

The purpose of this Country Support Strategy is to provide a framework for EU assistance programmes in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) under the 10th EDF. It outlines the current status of the bilateral relations; elaborates a detailed country diagnosis; summarises the Government’s development agenda; reviews the EC past and present cooperation and the activities of other major donors; and concludes with the proposed EU response strategy and its corresponding indicative work programme.

Saint Lucia

The purpose of this Country Support Strategy is to provide a framework for EU assistance programmes in Saint Lucia under the 10th EDF. Rwanda

The 10th EDF Country Strategy Paper (CSP) and National Indicative Programme (NIP) outline the framework for EC-Rwanda cooperation for the years 2008-2013. The main objective of the programme is to alleviate poverty in the context of sustainable development, while according a high priority to human rights and good governance issues.

Russia

The Russian Federation (Russia) is the largest state in the world in terms of territory, occupying more than 11% of the land surface of the Earth, and is located in Eurasia. Russia shares borders with 16 countries; it has land borders with Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, North Korea and maritime borders with Japan and the USA. Russia is a federal state consisting of 832 “subjects of federation” (like states in the USA or Laender in Germany).

“Migration in the Russian Federation: A Country Profile 2008” is part of a series of migration profiles produced by IOM Budapest within the “Black Sea Consultative Process on Migration Management” project, funded from IOM’s 1035 Facility.

Romania

This Extended Migration Profile (2011) has been prepared in the framework of the “Building Migration Partnerships” initiative funded by the European Union’s Thematic Programme, which was implemented between January 2009 and June 2011. The overall objective of this initiative was to contribute to the implementation of the Joint Declaration agreed at the Prague Ministerial Conference "Building Migration Partnerships" (April 2009). This Extended Migration Profile has been elaborated on the basis of a template prepared by the European Commission.

Romania

During the past one hundred years Romania was predominantly a country of emigration, with a rather impressive record regarding the number of persons involved, the outcomes and the varieties of migratory arrangements. It is noticeable that in the 20th century a considerable part of the migratory flows was directly or indirectly connected with ethnic minorities, a type of migration largely characteristic for other countries of Central and Southeastern Europe.
