Link Up! Financing diaspora entrepreneurship - Feasibility study

The feasibility study serves as a basis for the development of a comprehensive programme to support diaspora entrepreneurs through networking opportunities, capacity building and seed capital. The study analyses the existing challenges in Austria to support diaspora entrepreneurs, identifies the needs of diaspora entrepreneurs so that they are better able to contribute to their country of origin and assesses the gaps that could be addressed for the benefit of diaspora entrepreneurship.

Transitional Solutions Initiative for Refugees and their Host Communities in Eastern Sudan (2011-2013)

Eastern Sudan was selected as a pilot area for the Transitional Solutions Initiative (TSI). The goal of the project was to enhance self-reliance, reduce aid dependency and assist the socio-economic integration by restoring and expanding sustainable livelihoods opportunities for refugees and host communities.



The outputs of the project were inter alia to enhance vocational capacities and business skills, diversify and improve rural livelihoods opportunities for refugees and host communities and enhance access to microfinance services.

ACP-EU Migration Action

In 2010, the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States and the European Union (EU) agreed on a Joint Declaration on Migration and Development that was endorsed by the ACP-EU Council in June 2010. Regional Development and Protection Program

The Government of the Netherlands will lead the new and enlarged EU Regional Development and Protection Program (RDPP) in the Horn of Africa. The EU consortium of partners includes the European Commission, the European External Action Service, EU member states (Czech Republic, France, Greece, Italy, Luxemburg, Malta and the UK) and associated states (Norway, Switzerland).

E-visa system

Moldova has entered into visa-free agreements with the EU countries, Turkey, the Western Balkan states and a few Latin American countries. Learning from the experience of Australia, Moldova launched in August 2014 the e-visa system that gives access to citizens of other countries to travel easily to Moldova. 

Overseas Korean Foundation (OKF)

The Overseas Korean Foundation uses the capabilities of overseas Koreans for national development in line with its globalization policy.

The project aims to build the foundations of educating human resources who can make contributions to the development of overseas Korean societies as well as in the motherland by finding the next generation talents of excellent overseas Koreans.
