Climate Generation Project (PGC)

The Génération Climat Program (PGC), coordinated by the Fondation pour la Nature et pour l'Homme (FNH) and FORIM, aims to get young people aged 16 to 35 involved in the fight against climate change, in France and internationally, by offering them a range of different activities to help them take action. By following paths of engagement that lead them to understand, meet, act and then spread the word, the PGC aims to enable several thousand young people to grasp climate issues and make them a central focus of their civic commitment.

The National Directorate of Migrations of Argentina implemented through Provision 891/2022 the Special Humanitarian Visa Program for nationals and residents of the United Mexican States, Central America and the Caribbean displaced by socio-natural disasters, named as "Environmental Humanitarian Visa Program", which aims to provide humanitarian protection, planned relocation and lasting solutions to people, nationals and residents in the United Mexican States, Central America and the Caribbean (23 States included) displaced by socio-natural disasters.

Supporting pastoralism and livestock mobility to foster social cohesion and improved biodiversity, livestock farming, and access

Haho commits to strengthening the integration and social cohesion of migrant, displaced, and marginalized communities within the city. Haho attracts many ethnic groups from surrounding rural areas, which sometimes leads to social tension and violence within the city. To address these tensions, Haho’s project activities are grouped into two components.

The City of Choice

Nairobi City County Government (NCCG) will implement programming that promotes the involvement and employment of migrants, refugees and receiving communities in the environmental and economic sustainability of Nairobi most marginalized areas. NCCG will first conduct a baseline survey to understand the skills and employment needs of migrant, refugee and IDP communities living in informal settlements in Nairobi. Based on this survey, livelihoods and resilience strategies will be developed in concert with target communities.

Developing GCM Indicators on Human Mobility in the Context of Disasters, Climate Change and Environmental Degradation

Under the United Nations Migration Network (UNMN) Workplan 2022-2024, the Platform on Disaster Displacement (PDD) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) are working together to develop the Tool to Review the Implementation of the Commitments Related to Addressing Human Mobility in the Context of Disasters, Climate Change and Environmental Degradation – A Baseline Analysis Report Under the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.

Mayors Mechanism - Call to Local Action for Migrants and Refugees

In 2018, with the adoption of the Marrakech Mayors Declaration, local and regional governments (LRGs) pledged to implement the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) as well as the Global Compact on Refugees (GCR) in unison, as concrete pathways to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
