Under the United Nations Migration Network (UNMN) Workplan 2022-2024, the Platform on Disaster Displacement (PDD) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) are working together to develop the Tool to Review the Implementation of the Commitments Related to Addressing Human Mobility in the Context of Disasters, Climate Change and Environmental Degradation – A Baseline Analysis Report Under the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.

National Observatory of Migration and Health

In response to the migratory crisis that Colombia has experienced since 2015 due to the migratory flow from Venezuela. Taking into account the need that the Colombian State has to consolidate at the national level timely, and pertinent information on the characterization of the migrant population. Its situation of health, and access to health for the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of health care programs, strategies, and projects. The Ministry of Health, and Social Protection launched on December 2th, 2020 the National Observatory of Migration and Health.

EUDiF’s diaspora engagement mapping

The global mapping of diaspora engagement was created by the EU Global Diaspora Facility (EUDiF), a project funded by the European Union’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) and implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). The map is a unique resource for knowledge about diaspora engagement policies, practices, and priorities around the world, as well as the government institutions and diaspora organizations active in this dynamic space. It is a resource envisioned to assist the entire diaspora development ecosystem.

Diaspora investment in sustainable rural youth entrepreneurship in Mali

Through its Financing Facility for Remittances (FFR), IFAD is working to mobilize Malian migrant investment to encourage economic development entrepreneurism and employment in Mali, and to stimulate the economic inclusion of young Malians and offer them an alternative to migration, particularly in rural areas.

UK Safety, Support and Solutions Phase II

The UK Safety, Support and Solutions programme aims to protect migrants from harm. Migrant journeys, particularly via the Central Mediterranean Route, are extremely perilous, with migrants facing risks of violence, exploitation and abuse. This programme provides critical humanitarian and protection support to migrants at key junctures along the route. Assistance is offered to migrants in transit and upon return, with a particular focus on victims of trafficking, unaccompanied children, and migrants in very vulnerable situations.

IOM Stability Index Dashboard

IOM has developed a stability index which measures perceptions of security, expectations to stay in the same place, perceptions of underlying conflict issues, at community level. IOM creates maps, ranks locations, looks at the impact of stabilization initiatives and identifies if more humanitarian or environmental measures are needed. The maps allow for a ranking of locations, providing a view of impact of stabilization initiatives, but also informing which locations may be ready for different types of interventions (more humanitarian, peace building or more developmental)

One International Migration Data

Recognizing the importance of data provision in migration policy, the enaction of Presidential Regulation No. 39 of 2019 on One Data Indonesia, aims to help government to collect, manage, and utilize data accurately: sophisticatedly, integrated, accountable, accessible, and usable. Following this regulation, the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) has initiated the One International Migration Data project, which will facilitate collection of data on migration during the population census in 2020.

Global Programme on Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change

On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Global Programme on Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change (GP HMCCC) supports its partners in the Caribbean, East Africa, the Pacific, the Philippines and West Africa in better understanding and addressing the complex, multi-causal interrelations between different forms of human mobility (migration, displacement and planned relocation) and climate change.
