Bilateral Labor Agreements between the Philippines and Germany

The governments of the Republic of the Philippines and the Federal Republic of Germany signed two new labor agreements to enhance partnerships for the deployment of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the healthcare industry and other professional services.

It ensures equality of treatment and social protection for migrant workers. The BLA also applies social dialogue by ensuring that inclusion of trade unions from both the countries of origin and destination (PSLINK/Philippines and Ver.di/Germany) in the oversight committee.

EUROMED Migration V (EMM5)

In the framework of the EUROMED Migration V project, trainings to sensitise journalists and media professionals about the benefits of promoting a balanced narrative on migration are organised. Public Communicators' Workshops are developed to highlight the central role of public communicators in informing the public debate on migration, and in shaping people's perceptions of migration.

Artist Training Project

The project ARTIST TRAINING is a qualification program offered by the UdK Berlin Career College aimed at the qualification, consulting, and networking of artists in exile. Since 2016, 47 modules have provided information and contacts for about 700 participants from the following fields: music, fine arts, performing arts, film and in the beginning also culture and media. Otherwise there are networking events and consulting sessions.

E-Mindful Project

Aware of the divisive potential of an increasing polarized public discourse on migration, the project will pool lessons from selected awareness-raising campaigns on migration. Such analysis will offer evidence-based grounds to develop innovative prototypes of awareness-raising/edutainment formats in collaboration with communication experts at the national level, including University faculties of semiotics, communication and marketing, schools of journalism/TV/radio and art.

In collaboration with the African diaspora in Europe, WIDU applies an innovative approach that combines funding and coaching to strengthen new and existing small businesses in Africa, which then leads to the creation of new jobs.

WIDU.africa works in close collaboration with different African diaspora organisations and associations based in Europe. This partnership is vital for the implementation of WIDU.africa and the success of the project as they create a bridge between the WIDU.africa project and its most important actors ñ the diaspora members.
