6Degree.org is a crowdfunding portal to support voluntary return and sustainable integration of human trafficking victims launched in 2015 through a partnership between IOM and Microsoft. The site is backed by Microsoft Azure cloud-computing platform, while IOM provides the resources to help human trafficking victims. The platform meets IOM`s strict requirements for victim privacy and protection and is in place not only help victims, but also to raise awareness for human trafficking and enhance the global commitment to stopping it.

IOM's Pre-departure and post-arrival training and services

IOM has a strong history in pre-departure and post-arrival services and works in four areas:
- movement and transportation assistance
- case processing
- health assessments
- overseas language training and/or cultural orientation.
Pre-departure and post-arrival training are integration tools that are increasingly requested by both receiving and sending governments to prepare and facilitate the integration of potential migrants in origin countries.

Joint Migration and Development Initiative (JMDI)

The Joint Migration and Development Initiative (JMDI) aims to support migration and development actors actors to effectively harness the potential of migration for development. The programme is implemented by UNDP and five agencies - IOM, ILO, UNHCR, UNFPA and UN Women - contribute to the programme with their institutional knowledge, expertise and extensive networks to ensure its success.

Media Professionals Training

IOM helps in building the capacities of media professionals and students to implement good standards in their reporting of migration issues. One example of this is IOM's project 'Migrants in the Spotlight: Training and Capacity Building for Media', which included training seminars in 2011 for journalists and media students from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Slovakia to raise awareness about reporting on migration issues.

Reporting fairly on labour migration

All too frequently, xenophobia against migrant workers is fuelled by populist attitudes that are divorced from the reality on the ground. Wittingly or unwittingly, media can play its part in creating an unbalanced discourse about migration, including labour migration. To mark International Migrants Day on December 18, 2015, the ILO aunched the “Reporting Fairly on Labour Migration” global media competition to recognize exemplary media coverage and fair reporting on the issue.
