Virtual Museum of Caribbean Migration and Memory

The design for the Virtual Museum of Caribbean Migration and Memory (VMCMM) began in 2017 as part of the EU-LAC Museums Horizons 2020 project. The virtual museum was paired with a complementary physical exhibition, The Enigma of Arrival: The Politics and Poetics of Caribbean Migration to Britain, designed by the Barbados Museum & Historical Society and The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill campus.

The City of Choice

Nairobi City County Government (NCCG) will implement programming that promotes the involvement and employment of migrants, refugees and receiving communities in the environmental and economic sustainability of Nairobi most marginalized areas. NCCG will first conduct a baseline survey to understand the skills and employment needs of migrant, refugee and IDP communities living in informal settlements in Nairobi. Based on this survey, livelihoods and resilience strategies will be developed in concert with target communities.

EUDiF’s diaspora engagement mapping

The global mapping of diaspora engagement was created by the EU Global Diaspora Facility (EUDiF), a project funded by the European Union’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) and implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). The map is a unique resource for knowledge about diaspora engagement policies, practices, and priorities around the world, as well as the government institutions and diaspora organizations active in this dynamic space. It is a resource envisioned to assist the entire diaspora development ecosystem.

Territorial migration data profiles

In the region of Sedhiou in Senegal, a method to develop territorial migration data profiles was established and carried out in order to enhance six municipalities’ understanding of the migratory dynamics in their territories and respond accordingly.

National Strategy for Labour Reintegration for Returned Guatemalan Migrants

In May 2017, the Government of Guatemala established the National Strategy for Labor Reintegration for Returned Guatemalan Migrants (Estrategia Nacional para la Reinsercion de los Migrantes Guatemaltecos Retornados) to collect returnees' sociodemographic and skill profiles, and to establis institutions and processes for facilitating skill certification.

Migration Profile (MP) Project

Due to the lack of a national migration data system a first Migration Profile (MP) project in 2010, which culminated in the publication of “A Review on Vietnamese Migration Abroad”, was implemented by the Government of Viet Nam in partnership with the International Organization of Migration.

Migration Profile of BiH for the year 2016

Since 2009, the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina have prepared annual migration profiles of Bosnia and Herzegovina independently. The Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sector for Diaspora) prepares the chapter entitled "Emigration from Bosnia and Herzegovina" in annual BiH migration profiles, compiled and published by the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
