Temporary Protected Status Programme (TPS)
The United States Secretary of Homeland Security may designate a foreign country for TPS due to conditions in the country that temporarily prevent the country's nationals from returning safely, or in certain circumstances, where the country is unable to handle the return of its nationals adequately. USCIS may grant TPS to eligible nationals of certain countries (or parts of countries), who are already in the United States. Global Low Skilled Pilot Project

Strategy to Combat Human Trafficking and Slavery

National Plan to Eradicate Forced Labour
This document was prepared by the special Commission of the Council for the Protection of the Human Being (CDDPH). The national Plan follows the determinations of the National Human Rights Plan and reflects a public policy that should be monitored by a national organ or forum dedicated to the fight against slave labour.

The Brazilian Service to Micro and Small and Enterprises (SEBRAE) is a non-profit private entity. It is an agent of capacity building and promotion of development created to support the small business in the country. It works since 1972 to stimulate entrepreneurship and enable the competitiveness and sustainability of the micro and small initiatives.
It also encourages workers in Brazil to attain professional qualifications.
National Pact for the Elimination of Slave Labour in the Clothing Manufacturing Sector
The National Pact for the Elimination of Slave Labour was signed in 2005 by 100 different entities, with private companies, economic groups and 11 business entities (in 2010 there were already 130 signataries).
The Pact envisages the introduction of tools that will be used for the business sector and society to prevent the use of slave labour in the productive chain.
Bilateral Agreement between Portugal and Brazil
The Portuguese and Brazilian Governments signed a bilateral agreement in 2009 aimed at regularizing the immigrant status of several Brazilian nationals residing in Portugal.

National Registry of Rural Workers and Employers (RENATEA)
National Registry of Rural Workers and Employers (RENATEA) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security.
All employers and farm workers must be registered in RENATEA in order to develop their activities in the agriculture field. The Registry also comprises a fund that provides unemployment insurance and an employment record card to all agricultural workers.
