In March 2017, the federal government in Canada launched a pilot project to address labour shortages in certain industries in Nova Scotia.

With an unemployment rate of 8%, there is paradoxically an acute labour shortage in certain industries in the region, including Nova Scotia fish plants.

Cooperation between Poland and Angola

Poland has a strong cooperation with Angola. Its aim is principally to contribute to the sustainability of the Angola economic development.

At the same time it perfectly fits into the framework of the EU-Africa cooperation by addressing the needs of youth in the area of education and job creation, thus enhancing the economic potential of Angola. 

Ulpan Program

Israel made substantial efforts on integration with the elaboration of their Ulpan Program. 

Intensive Hebrew Language Programs for new immigrants are usually housed within Absorption Centers, and include five hours of intensive, immersive Hebrew-language instruction, five days a week, for five months.

Local Support to the Most Vulnerable Refugees

Through implementation of the project activities, useful practice was identified which contribute to the timely and adequate respond. Through mobile time that included cultural mediator it was indicated that through such a practice it is easier to provide adequate support. Cultural mediators, have provided assistance to vulnerable population through a specialized case management in gender-based violence, safety planning, follow-up of cases, referral, psychosocial support, but they also became engaged in the activities dedicated to the best interests assessment and referral of such cases.

 Liechtenstein Languages

Liechtenstein Languages is a non-profit language course project. It is designed to 1.) train language trainers and 2.) teach German or other languages to migrants and refugees who have arrived and settled in Europe, especially in German speaking countries (Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland).

Kiron University

Kiron Open Higher Education  is a social start-up founded in 2014 with the aim of removing existing barriers and provide higher education to refugees. The university  offers an innovative combination of online and offline learning to provide accessible, sustainable, and cost-effective education. Kiron  is investing in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to facilitate integration of migrants through education.

Diaspora Engagement Hub

On the 12th of February 2016, the Diaspora Relations Bureau (BRD) of the State Chancellery of Moldova, in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM Moldova) and the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), launched the Diaspora Engagement Hub – a new program of thematic grants for Moldovan citizens abroad, including diaspora associations and initiative groups.

i-platform (Platform for the Diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Switzerland)

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation supported the creation of a platform for the Bosnian and Herzegovinian Diaspora in Switzerland, which connects the Diaspora in Switzerland with the purpose of joining forces to support the development of the country of origin beyond the many existing individual contributions at family or community level.

Enhancing the development impact of engagement with the Moldovan diaspora – homeland partnerships

The overall goal of IOM's project in Moldova is to create enabling conditions for Moldovan diaspora’s systematic engagement in their homeland’s socio-economic development through sharing technical expertise and knowledge they acquired abroad and cultivating Romanian language skills among the second generation of migrants.
