The second implementation phase (2015-2018) of FAO's Integrated Country Approach (ICA) for boosting decent jobs for youth in the agri-food system targeted Senegal, Uganda and Guatemala. FAO's efforts in this programme are aimed at providing rural youth with alternatives to migration through decent rural employment in agricultural value chains, and by fostering diaspora engagement in agri-business.

Migration in Uganda: A Rapid Country Profile presents information on the flows and stocks of immigrants in Uganda, Uganda emigrants and internal migrants within Uganda. The profile also analyses the impact of migration to health, the environment and the socioeconomic development of the country as well as Uganda’s main migration governance structures. Recommendations are made with regards to migration governance, mainstreaming migration into development and strengthen migration statistics.

African Postal Financial Service Initiative

The African Postal Financial Services initiative is a joint regional programme launched by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the European Commission in collaboration with the World Bank, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) – a specialized United Nations agency for the postal sector, the World Savings Banks Institute/European Savings Banks Group (WSBI/ESBG) and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF).

The 10th EDF Country Strategy Paper (CSP) and National Indicative Programme (NIP) contained in this document outline the framework for EC-Uganda cooperation for the years 2008-2013. The EC response strategy is in line with Uganda’s Poverty Eradication Action Plan (PEAP) and is consistent with the principles and guidelines of the Uganda Joint Assistance Strategy (UJAS).
