EUDiF Diaspora Youth Internship

As part of the efforts to mainstream diaspora expertise in development, the European Union Global Diaspora Facility (EUDiF) runs an internship programme for self-identifying diaspora youth based in Europe, with heritage in the partner regions Africa, Asia, Latin America & the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, and the Pacific.

The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons was established by Decree 52 of 1989 now Cap. N21, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 (NCFRMI Act).

The NCFRMI Act incorporated the 1951 United Nations Convention relating to the status of Refugees, its 1967 Protocol and the 1969 Organisation of African Unity Convention governing specific aspect of Refugees problems in Africa and they together form the guide to the protection and management of asylum seekers and refugees in Nigeria.

Guidance on Bilateral labour migration agreements

It contains practical guidance grounded in international labour and human rights standards and drawing from real examples around the world. It shows how social dialogue benefits the development, implementation and monitoring of these agreements, and can be used as a basis for training and preparing for negotiation of bilateral labour migration agreements.

Governance of Labour Migration in South and South-East Asia (GOALS)

Sri Lanka has implemented a skills passport, a portfolio that documents the skills and qualifications acquired informally by returnee migrant workers or workers in Sri Lanka. This platform allows skills matching by enabling upward employability and facilitating

Youth Leadership and Innovation Award

The Youth Leadership and Innovation Award for Migration (YLIA) is a global contest empowering young leaders to drive innovative solutions for migration challenges. The inaugural Youth Leadership and Innovation Award for Migration organised as part of youth engagement in the 2021 Global Forum for Migration and Development Summit, awarded cash prizes totaling $33,000 to three winning youth initiatives. These were chosen from nine finalists by a high-level jury during a pitching and awards ceremony during the GFMD summit itself.
