German-Moroccan partnership on asylum and international refugee protection

Context
Morocco is no longer just a country of emigration – it is also a host country. An increasing number of people who are forced to flee their homes in other countries now seek asylum in Morocco. The number of people seeking asylum here has tripled in recent years. In April 2015 the figure stood at 2,937 – with the majority coming from Syria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Côte d’Ivoire. This development poses major challenges for the country.

Migration and integration management

Migration and integration affect various different policy areas, such as education, employment and health. The project supports coordination between the relevant ministries at national level in order to ensure coherent implementation of the national strategy. In addition, exchange and communication formats are created between ministries at national level and local officials in the ten partner municipalities Béni Mellal, Casablanca, Fès, Marrakesh, Nador, Oujda, Rabat, Salé, Tanger and Tiznit to implement the strategy jointly and to draw up policy recommendations.

Bilateral partnership on migration between Switzerland and Nigeria

Switzerland and Nigeria have had a successful migration partnership framework for more than 5 years. It includes return migration management as part of the framework. 

In 2011, Switzerland and Nigeria concluded a migration partnership, which is a centrepiece of their relations. Together the two States have undertaken to promote the positive aspects of migration and to fight its negative sides.

Moldova-EU Mobility Partnership

The mobility partnerships are the most complete framework for bilateral cooperation between the EU and its partners, based on mutual offers of commitments and project initiatives covering mobility, migration and asylum issues, within the Global Approach to Migration and Mobility (GAMM). Helping citizens to move around Europe in a secure environment is a key component of the Eastern Partnership, which promotes the mobility of the citizens of the EU Eastern partner countries through visa facilitation agreements, and provides rules for managing the return of irregular migrants through

USAID Project Harnessing Diaspora for Economic Development Of Bosnia And Herzegovina

A five-year intervention worth 5,2+ million US$ of the U.S. Government in Bosnia and Herzegovina.  This USAID’s project catalyzes diaspora’s contribution to socio-economic development in BiH by structuring, stimulating, and supporting diaspora investment in the home country.

The project has three main components:

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)

Pakistan and China are engaged in a partnership to build China-Pakistan Economic Corridors (CPEC) which aims to enhance connectivity between the two countries through building up of highways and railroads. The goal is to spur economic activity for the mutual benefit of both Pakistan and China as well as for the entire region. 

Recruitment of Filipino Nurses for Germany

On February 4, 2016, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), an agency of the Philippine Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) which regulates activities related to Filipino migrant workers, passed Governing Board Resolution No. 4, series of 2016, which allows private recruitment agencies in the Philippines to participate in the recruitment, deployment and employment of Filipino nurses for Germany free of placement fee charges.

Migration partnerships between Switzerland and partner countries

 At the bilateral level, the Swiss authorities have engaged in migration partnerships with African, Asian and western Balkan countries. Usually formalised by means of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), they identify common issues and problems with regard to readmission, return assistance, visa policy, prevention of human trafficking, migrants’ human rights and other aspects.

Agreement between the Philippines an Saudi Arabia on Domestic Worker Recruitment

The MOU signed by the two parties in 2013 aims to enhance cooperation on domestic worker recruitment in a way which realizes the interests of both countries and securies the rights of both workers and employers.

Under this MOU th charging or deducting from salary any cost attendant to recruitment and deployment from workers’ salaries is prohibited.
