'Strengthening African and Middle Eastern Diaspora Policy through South-South Exchange' (AMEDIP) is a project of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), developed and implemented within the framework of the Dialogue on Mediterranean Transit Migration (MTM). More specifically, AMEDIP builds directly upon the previous MTM initiative 'Linking Emigrant Communities for More Development - Inventory of Institutional Capacities and Practices', implemented by ICMPD and IOM in the period 2009 - 2010.

ERGEM - Enhancing the Role of Georgian Emigrants at Home

The project "Enhancing the Role of the Georgian Emigrants at Home (ERGEM)" is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) in cooperation with project partners. The main aim of the project is to contribute to strengthening the ties between Georgians abroad and Georgian institutions in order to increase diaspora contributions to Georgia's economic development.

The African Diaspora Policy Centre (ADPC) programme Strengthening Policy Making Capacities of African Diaspora Ministries (SEDIMA), which ran from July 2012 to July 2015, aims to contribute to strengthening policy making capacities and practical operations of African government officials serving at the newly-formed Diaspora Ministries and related institutions tasked with overseeing Diaspora and development-related matters.

SPARK

There is little support for students and entrepreneurs in regions affected by conflict, the climate crisis or displacement. Even when education is available, it is hard, if not impossible, for motivated, talented young people to access the labour market. Spark has 25 years of experience in develops higher education and entrepreneurship for young people in conflict and post-conflict zones, allowing them to develop a cross-sector approach that opens up pathways to employment for potential entrepreneurs.

Support of Circular Migration and Re-integration Process in Armenia

This project of the EU aims to contribute to the protection of rights of Armenian citizens leaving for work abroad, economic stabilisation and reintegration of labour/circular migrants and the prevention of irregular migration. The specific objective is to empower all stakeholders in Armenian labour/circular migration in order to make migration work better for development.

EU Immigration Portal

The EU Immigration Portal serves as a first point of entry to reliable, practical and up-to-date information on immigration issues. It provides useful basic information written in user-friendly language and gives rapid and direct access to relevant external websites for further information. In concrete terms, the portal helps potential migrants to:

- Better understand the EU admission rules and procedures;

- Identify job and study opportunities;

- Find information on the rights of non-EU citizens who are in the EU;

Prime-Minister Disposition on the whole-of-Government approach on Migration and Diaspora

The Disposition of the Prime-Minister on the implementation of the-whole-of-Government approach on Migration and Diaspora wsa signed on 07.06.2013. According to the document in all national authorities (30 state institutions) there is a focal point responsible for implementation, and a key person responsible for promotion of the Diaspora Policies. The novelty of the Moldovan Mainstreaming is based on two key items – empiric-based approach to policy design and policy coherence issue.

Complementary Education/Bridging Programmes

This practice comprises initiatives with the aim of integrating individuals with foreign degrees into the Swedish higher education system and labour market. For instance, the Government has allocated resources for complementary education, aimed at immigrants with higher education qualifications and degrees  in law, medicine, nursing, dentistry and teacher education from a third country who need complementary education so as to engage in professional activities in Sweden.

Consolidation of Migration Management Capacities in the Republic of Moldova

The Swedish Public Employment Service leads a 3-year project 2012-2014 aiming to strengthening the capacity of Moldovan authorities to manage return migration and supporting social and economic reintegration of returning Moldovan citizens, informing the Moldovan population on the possibilities of working and living legally in the EU and enhancing the capacity of Moldovan Diaspora Associations to better maximize the links between migration and labour market development in destination countries and in Moldova.

Cooperation in the Vocational and Education Training (VET) Sector between Switzerland and India

The Swiss Federal Office for Vocational Training (OFFT) and the Switzerland-India Chamber of Commerce launched a pilot project for technical training based on the initial polymechanic vocational training provided by Swissmem in 2008. The certificate of "Multiple Skilled Production Technician" was awarded to the first 18 professionals who followed a two years training program in the industrial sector.
